📱 The Payment QR Section
Create unlimited QR codes for fast, real-time in-store payments — no apps required for customers.
The Payment QR section lets your business generate and manage unlimited QR codes that customers can scan to make instant payments using their mobile phone.
Customers don’t need any special app — just the camera on their phone.
Each QR code ties to a physical location (like a register or table) and allocates a contribution to the cause you choose.
This system functions like a completely digital POS flow, allowing you to:
- Accept real-time in-store payments
- Avoid specialized POS hardware
- Link payments to specific locations
- Allow customer tipping (optional)
- Automatically direct contributions to fundraisers
1. Mobile Access & the Payberry App for Business
Businesses and staff can manage the entire Payment QR system using:
✔ A mobile phone’s web browser
Simply log into your Our Mayberry business account from your phone.
✔ The Payberry App for Business
The Payberry app provides an even easier way to:
- Receive instant payment notifications
- Complete pending QR code transactions
- View your transaction list
- Enter amounts due
- Manage QR codes on the go
This makes the system perfect for businesses that:
- Move around (food trucks, events, markets)
- Have multiple staff handling payments
- Need quick mobile access to manage QR payments anywhere
2. What Payment QR Codes Do
Each QR code you create:
✔ Represents a specific location
Examples:
- Register 1
- Register 2
- Table 5
- Pickup Counter
- Service Room
- “Home” (for testing)
✔ Initiates a real-time payment request
Scanning the QR triggers an immediate alert to your business.
✔ Routes contributions correctly
Based on the cause you selected when creating the QR code.
✔ Supports tipping
Tips go to your business and are not included in contribution calculations.
✔ Requires no customer app
The entire payment happens on the customer’s phone browser.
3. Creating a Payment QR Code
- Go to Payment QR in your left-side menu.
- Click Generate Payment QR Code.
- Name the location (e.g., “Register 3,” “Table 12”).
- Select which cause should receive contributions.
- Save the QR code.
You’ll then see options to:
- Download
- Delete
You can create as many QR codes as you need.
4. What Happens When a Customer Scans the QR Code
When a customer scans:
- They see the assigned location name.
- They can enter their name or choose “Guest.”
- They tap Request Payment to notify your business.
You will then receive:
🔔 An instant in-app notification
And a new Pending Payment will appear in your Transactions section.
5. Completing a QR Code Payment
In your Transactions section (or in the Payberry app):
- You’ll see the pending payment request with:
- Customer name (or Guest)
- Payment location
- Associated fundraiser
- You enter the Total Amount Due from your normal POS workflow.
- Click CHARGE.
- The customer instantly sees the amount and completes payment.
- If tipping is enabled, they can leave an optional gratuity.
- The transaction moves to “Completed” automatically.
6. Managing Existing QR Codes
From the Payment QR page, you can:
- Print QR codes for tables, counters, or signage
- Download them for menus, flyers, or digital displays
- Delete older or unused codes
- Create new ones anytime
Many businesses generate:
- Table 1–30
- Register A, B, C
- Event Station A–D
- “Pickup Counter”
- “Curbside”
This gives your business complete flexibility.
7. How Contributions Work With QR Payments
Contributions for in-store QR purchases follow the percentage you set in your Business Profile under:
Enable In-Store or Invoice Contributions
Each QR purchase applies your selected percentage to:
- The total purchase amount only
- Not the tip
The contribution is automatically sent to the nonprofit or campaign chosen for that QR code.
8. Why the Payment QR System Matters
The Payment QR feature gives your business:
✔ A hardware-free, modern checkout system
✔ Lightning-fast real-time notifications
✔ Better customer experience
✔ Optional tipping
✔ Automatic cause allocation
✔ Unlimited QR codes for any layout
✔ Full mobile access
✔ Dedicated support through the Payberry Business App
✔ Seamless integration with the Transactions and Reports sections
It’s one of the fastest and most flexible ways to accept in-person payments while supporting community impact.
